摘要 <p>1391836 Reforming naphtha UNIVERSAL OIL PRODUCTS CO 9 May 1972 [10 May 1971] 21509/72 Heading C5E [Also in Division B1] In a catalytic reactor Fig. 1, e.g. for catalytic reforming, catalyst flows continuously or intermittently through annular catalytic beds at sections 2, 3 and 4 via interconnecting small diameter pipes 13, 21 and 38 and leaves via uniformly placed withdrawal conduits 49 while reactant enters at 6, passes transversely through each bed from the annular manifold surrounding each bed, passing through external heat exchangers 26 and 37 between passage through adjacent beds, the covers 20, 33 and 48 of the annular beds being removable. Transfer of catalyst is made out of a bed under core 23 as shown in Fig. 3. The annular catalyst zones are defined by flat faced wedge shaped wires or bars 14<SP>1</SP>, 15<SP>1</SP> as shown in Fig. 4 to prevent attrition of catalyst. The catalytic reforming of a gasoline fraction using spherical catalyst is exemplified where catalyst with hydrogen lift gas are introduced at 7, and a mixture of gasoline and hydrogen is introduced at 6. The apparatus is said to be particularly suitable for reforming naptha fractions using a catalyst of a platinum group metal combined with alumina spheres.</p>
