PURPOSE: To execute accurate residual toner detection and warning, even when the output of a sensor is fluctuated by correcting a detected value after toner is supplied, based on fluctuations of the value detected by a sensor. CONSTITUTION: The toner 2 is consumed with a developing operation and supply is required, so that an antenna 6 capacity-coupled to a developing sleeve 3 is extended as a residual toner detecting sensor in a developer container 1, to detect the residual toner. Information of the detection is compared with a reference value and when the toner 2 is consumed to such a degree that the supply is required, the warning is issued by an LED 11. The presence of the fluctuations in the value detected by the residual toner detecting sensor (antenna) 6, with respect to the previously set toner reference value is judged in accordance with the supply of the toner 2 after the warning is outputted. When the fluctuations occur, a prescribed reference value or the value detected by the antenna 6 after the fluctuations is corrected to cancell the fluctuations. Therefore, the remaining amount of the toner 2 can be accurately detected at all times and the warning is precisely issued. |
