The storage and transport skip (1) for rocks has vertical side walls (2) and a horizontal bottom (3). It is installed on the chassis (4) of a transport vehicle which rests on a side beams (5). A secondary removable skip (7), comprising an open welded sheet metal container forming a concave storage wall, fits inside the first skip where it is supported by the external side edges (8) and the bottom. The secondary skip is reinforced by a second metal sheet (12) which covers its bottom. This second metal sheet is placed on the sides of the secondary skip to a predetermined height. This height is defined by an angle ( alpha ) relative to the plane of symmetry (13) measured from a point in this plane at the same height as the external side edges of the first skip. The concave shape of the skip's reinforcing lining enables a gain in rock load weight which can be accommodated at a low cost.
