PURPOSE: To provide a copying machine capable of properly separating transfer paper from a photoconductive drum without sacrificing transferability even in the case of forming an image whose image area rate is low. CONSTITUTION: The copying machine comprises a latent image formation means, such as an electrifier 2, which forms a latent image onto the photoconductive drum 1, a developing unit 5 which forms a toner image by developing the latent image, a transfer charger 7 which transfers the toner image to transfer paper 12 by bringing the transfer paper 12 into contact with the photoconductive drum 1, and a separation charger 8 which separates the transfer paper, 12, with the toner image transferred to it, from the photoconductive drum. The copying machine is provided with a photosensor 10 for detecting an amount of toner sticking to the base part of the photoconductive drum 1, and a control part for changing, based on the result of the detection by the photosensor 10, a control parameter for the sticking of the toner to the base part, for example the set of the concentration of the toner in developer. |
