PURPOSE: To provide a document preparation supporting method which enables optimum editing corresponding to a sentence example, switches an editing mode freely with an operator's instruction, enables free editing as an individual operator likes by storing optimum editing modes by sentence examples. CONSTITUTION: When a sentence example is selected, an editing mode corresponding to the selected sentence example is automatically started. An operator can switch the mode to an optical editing mode. In 1st editing mode among plural editing modes, plural character strings corresponding to a specified partial character string are retrieved from a rewrite information storage part 102 and displayed by being rewritten into the partial character string when the partial character string is specified in a character string storage part 101. In 2nd editing mode, editing such as copying, movement, addition, and deletion in constituent units of a document stored in a document constitution storage part 112 is performed. |
