FIELD: river and seagoing displacement-type vessels. SUBSTANCE: direction, speed and hydrodynamic counterpressure of water flow are positively formed in horizontal plane of surface layer in areas of intensive wave and vortex generation of fore and aft underwater portions of hull by means of wings lowered at some distance from hull to a depth of no less than half the height of free fore and aft waves. Expected reduction of wave resistance ranges from 1/2 to 2/3 of magnitude of ave resistance of ships not equipped with such device. Proposed as version of device is use of catamarans with flat and parallel outer sides which do not create waves and vortices and distance between inner convex sides reduces to 2/3 and less than width of one hull. Convex lines of inner sides of such vessel form hydrodynamic counterpressure in horizontal plane suppressing the wave and vortex generation of fore and aft systems of waves and vortices. EFFECT: reduced resistance of water to motion of ships. |
