PURPOSE: To provide an image processor which can detect a proper moving vector when used for moving picture compression. CONSTITUTION: An adder 8 adds the offset 46 of an origin and the moving vector 44 of circuit operation together to calculate coordinates (Xc, Yc) of a candidate block. A comparator 12 judges the effectiveness of the moving vector 44 of the circuit operation from the residue 11 between image data S2 of a reference block of a current screen and image data S1 in a search range of a last screen, (Xc, Yc), and specific priority and determines the best moving vector 44 of the circuit operation for image compression processing. An original moving vector 47 as to the moving vector 44 of this circuit operation is stored in a register 14 and then outputted through an output terminal 18. |
