PURPOSE: To provide a lithium battery which retains conventional battery characteristics at low temperatures and is at the same time excellent in high temperature resistance, i.e., safety at high temperatures and resistance to battery shape variation by using specific two components simultaneously as the electrolyte of the lithium battery. CONSTITUTION: This thin battery comprises a positive electrode; a negative electrode made from a compound that can be doped with lithium metal, a lithium alloy or lithium; a separator; and an electrolyte, with the electrolyte made from the following: a material containing one kind or more of cyclic ester and/or cyclic carbonic acid ester as the first component and one kind or more of material as the second component which has a chemical composition formula Cn H2 nOm ((n)=4-8 and (m)=3-4) and has an ester bond and an ether bond in its molecules; the ratio of the first to second components is about 5:95 to 95:5. |
