PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To economize a device by allowing a series of adjacent data segments in a current block to follow command segments when the data segments of the current block becomes different from a seed value. SOLUTION: A memory is stored with a seed block 13 and the current block 14. A difference module 16 compares byte positions corresponding to the blocks 13 and 14 with each other and outputs a code if the bytes are different. When the bytes are the same, a value 0 is outputted. The module 16 operates to generate a delta block 18. The block 18 and block 14 are supplied to and encoded by an encoding module 20. The encoded and compressed data block 22 is sent to a receiver 12 through a transmission module 24. The encoded and module compressed block 22 is restored by a decoding module 30 to a delta block format 18. A substitution module 32 uses the data from the block 13 to restore the block 14. |
