Hollow shaft controllable in revolution rate and force eg. for coating or printing systems

The shaft has a drive motor and transmission for controlling the required revolution rate so as to enable the required power to be delivered. The shaft consists of special half axles designed to enable rigid mounting in the system. A drive unit consisting of two planetary gears (11,19) and a three-phase motor (15) is held by the half axles (4) in the centre of the hollow shaft. A movably mounted roller casing is driven by the drive unit in a controllable rotary motion.
