<p>A luggage case (11) has a luggage receptacle (12) with an openable lid (14) at the top and sets of front and rear wheels (24, 26) at the undersurface. A handle (32) for facilitating such travel has a pair of telescoping arms (38, 39) with first ends that are pivoted to opposite sides of the back region of the receptacle and opposite ends linked by a cross member (37). The handle (32) is pivoted to and latched at an inclined active position at which it extends to a location which is both vertically and horizontally spaced from the back end of the luggage receptable (12) and a compacted inactive position at which the arms extend back along the sides of the receptacle and the cross link extends along the front surface of the receptacles (12). The wheels (24, 26) are retractable to enable directing resting of the case on a supporting surface.</p> |
