Mfr. of a plastic prod. with solid and hollow parts involves: (a) closing off one part (8) of a tool cavity (2) to prevent melt entering the blocked off area (8); (b) injecting plastic melt in a free area (9) of the cavity (2); (c) opening the closed off area (8) and simultaneously with or following the melt injection, injecting a pressurised fluid, esp. a gas, into the melt with a needle (7) to force melt against the cavity (2) walls and also into the previously closed-off area (8); (d) cooling the melt; and (e) releasing fluid pressure and demoulding the product. Also claimed is the appts. used which includes a two-part tool (1) with a cavity (2), a fluid injection nozzle (7) and a means (10) for closing off part (8) of the cavity (2).
