Mfr. of absorption substrate for purifying contaminated media

Contaminated media, partic. surface water and soils, are cleaned, e.g. of hydrocarbons etc., by an absorption medium which is mfd. by a method in which a substrate material is produced by high-speed grinding of material from a compact piece using a grinding roller. The substrate particles that result are combined with at least one oxidic additive reducing adhesion and an organic, closed-pore parting material is incorporated in the surfaces of the substrate particles. The parting medium is pref. cork powder. A pref. substrate is formed by rubber particles.
