Load absorption spring supporting pipework, machinery etc. suspension

A band (1) of viscoelastic material is stretched between baseplate (2) and cover plate (3) parallel to this. The centre part of the band is released from the baseplate and so encircles a slider (4) connected to the load. The spring band is made of polyurethane with Shore hardness 40-90 and the slider is formed from a half cylinder. The load connection is provided by a threaded bolt (5) which is fixed to the slider and engages in the centre, the bolt as such run through both polymer spring band and cover plate. The band material hardness allows for load ratings between 70 and 90 kp and when 150 mm long, 40 mm wide and 5 mm in thickness is centrally bored out for the bolt, here passing through the slider at slider radius of 20 mm.
