The electronic control system includes a flexible control unit (2) which communicates bi-directionally with at least three device modules (1,3,4). The first of these modules is addressed by means of tele-control techniques, and is equipped for use as a transceiver unit. The second module is a databank, which acts as a memory for the control system. The third module acts as a peripheral for the control unit, and has input and output frequency ranges. The remote control signals received by the transceiver module are converted by it from analogue to digital, and then transmitted to the control unit. This converts the digital signals to control commands, which it uses for device regulation.
