Holding device in which holding cheeks (5) are distributed around the periphery of the rotary plate (2). The cheeks are arranged in pairs and each cheek is supported on a pin (6) using an angle piece (8). The angle pieces are joined together by the connecting element (7) and the holding cheeks have stops (9) to contact the container body (10). The distance between the holding cheeks and the stops is so measured that on introducing the container body, clamping is caused by a spring action.
