Plastic box shaped casing contg. reel for packaging and dispensing e.g. cable, wire or cord

A plastic box casing (7) and reel (5) or reels is a novel container and dispenser. The casing, square in shape, is in two parts and has an opening (9) for the cable. In the reel space (4) within, the reel is free to rotate about the axis. The casing sections are attached together by snap-in fastenings (17-20). When winding materials onto or from the reel, the reel or reel(s) are surrounded by the casing. Pref. there are running surfaces for the reel(s) at the circumference of the reel cavity. The reels(s) pref. have end flanges (3) with external positioning and rotating elements (6). On both end faces of the casing there is a circular recess (26) for access to these elements. Casing halves are identical. Transverse to the long axis of the reel (5) the casing is divided into two halves, with the opening for material (9) on one long side. There are pref. snap-in connectors (17-20) with rotational symmetry on the facing sides. The reel itself is made in two equal halves, the reel axes having rotationally symmetrical snap connectors. The box has guides, and is stackable. There are fixtures (12) opposite the cable opening (9) and an attachment (10) for a length measuring device. At the end of the hollow reel axis (20) is a holding opening (23) to secure the wound material end.
