FIELD PROGRAMMABLE EXPENDABLE UNDERWATER VEHICLE

An expendable underwater vehicle for use in training naval forces in anti-su bmarine warfare in ocean waters is between about three t o five feet in length and about five inches in diameter, and it is field progr ammable. The expendable underwater vehicle can be progra mmed in the field at the location where the vehicle actually will be used as a tr aining device. A system for field programming the vehicl e comprises a run geometry generator and a portable interface module. The run geometry generator downloads the operational parameters to the portable interface module, and the portable interface module then dow nloads the operational parameters into the vehicle. Thes e operational parameters are stored in the vehicle and then used by the vehicl e during an in-water run.
