A method for recording traffic messages in a broadcast receiver is described. The playback unit of the broadcast receiver, which comprises the LF end stage (8) and the loudspeaker (9), is connectible via a signal source change-over switch (7) to further LF signal sources (10, 11, 12) which include a recording unit for traffic messages (10). In the display unit (14) of the broadcast receiver the operative signal source is displayed. When a change of transmitter is initiated in the event of the display of one of the further signal sources, in the event of the reception of an announcement code, the announcement code is displayed alternately together with the set transmitter or by itself.
