<p>An integral, monolithic frame-membrane (10) is disclosed. Frame-membrane (10) has a semi-permeable membrane portion and integral therewith a frame portion (18) having one or more cavities (11a, 11b). Each cavity (11a, 11b) is juxtaposed to the membrane portion and has at least one fluid entrance conduit (13a, 13b) in communication with an entrance manifold aperture (12a, 12b) and at least one fluid exit conduit (15a, 15b) in communication with an exit manifold aperture (14a, 14b). The integral, monolithic frame-membrane (10) may be used in apparatus for carrying out reverse osmosis, diffusion dialysis, electrodialysis, Donnan dialysis, pervaporation, piezodialysis, membrane distillation, osmosis, thermo osmosis and electrolysis with membranes.</p> |
