<p>A method for the diagnosis of melanoma or breast cancer is provided. In particular, the method provides for the detection of nucleic acids corresponding to multiple melanoma or breast cancer specific markers using template-dependent amplification processes. In one embodiment, the markers used are tyrosinase, MUC18, p97, MAGE-3, β-HCG, MAGE-1 and GalNAc. The methods using these combinations of markers are more sensitive in the detection of tumor cells in patients as compared to single marker assays.</p> |
