Cosmetic photoprotection composition containing an ultraviolet filter and a polymer and uses thereof

A cosmetic compsn. for topical use contains, in a suitable carrier with a continuous aq. phase, (a) a protective system able to filter UVA and/or UVB radiation, and (b) a polymer with repeated units of formula (I): and of formula (II): and/or of formula (III): a = 0 or 1; R1, R2, R3, R4 = H or 1-4C alkyl; R5 = CH3CO or R6-(OC2H5)b; R6 = 2-20C alkyl; b = 1-20; and if the polymer does not contain unit (II), then R2 and R4 are not both = H.
