<p>A torque-limiting joint able to disengage the driven member from the driving member, (one being an outer member (1), the other an inner member (3)) upon exceeding a maximum value of the transmitted torque and to allow re-engagement at a lesser value of the relative velocity, with recesses (5) in the inner surface (1C) of the outer member (1) cooperating with sliders (20) in radial guideways (18) in the inner member (3); the sliders (20) having wedge-shaped inner ends (20A) sandwiched between and co-operating with pairs of shaped pads (10) located in tangiential seat (9) and urged towards one another by springs (12). <IMAGE></p> |
