METHOD OF MANUFACTURING METAL FLAKES

This method is manufactures of metal flakes as a filler material for giving brilliance of coating material for automobile and ink for printing, and for giving conductivity coating material. Compared with production of metal flake by ordinary ball mill or attritor, this method by extrusion or rolling has a good productivity and facility of flake-size control. The metal flake is produced by the processes of mixing of metal powder and salt, pre-treatment of mixed materials for easy separation of final metal flake, compacting of mixed powder, extruding or rolling for making of flake, and/or ball milling or attrition milling, and separation of metal flake from plate. The metal powder for raw material is a mixed powder of one or more selected from Al and Al alloy, Cu and Cu alloy, Ag and Ag alloy, Ti and Ti alloy, Fe and Fe alloy, Ni and Ni alloy, Co and Co alloy.
