The invention relates to a fastening buckle 10 including a female retention button 16 which is subdivided by an inner partition 56 into two staged compartments 58, 60, and a male snap-fit tab 12 equipped with a blocking stud 28, the said tab being intended for insertion into one of the compartments (58) through a passage slot 14. The other compartment 60 comprises V-shaped criss-crossing means for a strap 76 through other slots 66, 68, 62. Application: chin-strap for a protective (safety) helmet.
