The hand-operated valve is particularly for regulating the flow in a hot-water, heating or air-conditioning system, having a plug loaded by a spring working with a rotary handle on the screwed head of a valve union. The connection between the handle (10) and the plug (4) or its spindle (3) is provided by a transmission body (13) centred in the handle and which can rotate in relation to it and also slide axially. Its lower end bears against the free end of the plug spindle. The upper end of the body bears, via a line of control cams indisc form, against the underside face of the handle. The pattern of the cams determines the valve characteristics.
