<p>An injection unit has a worm effecting an axial and a rotary movement in a heated cylinder, and an injection nozzle. There is a rotary drive for the worm and an injecting drive. A filling arrangement delivers granulate, varying the degree of filling of the worm, and a device is fitted for measuring the degree of torque exerted on the worm by the motor. A corresp. signal is put out for the control of the granulate dispenser feeding the filling hopper, so that the torque is kept constant. Valves in the hydraulic circuit shut down the filling arrangement during the injection stroke of the worm, and the feed to the worm can be adjusted to so small an amt. that the threads in a zone, seen in the direction of injection, behind the filling opening, are only partly filled. Arrangement ensures uniformity of viscosity and temp., etc. in the plasticised mass.</p> |
