The motor vehicle chassis has two lengthwise members, and two cross-members at the ends. It also has two parallel lengthwise tubes (5, 6), curved at the ends and each welded to the inside face of one of the lengthwise members (1, 2). There may be a third tube running in the axial direction (8) between the first two, and acting as a casing for a propeller shaft. Transverse tubes (20, 21) may be fixed to the tubes and lengthwise members, and supporting the vehicle suspension. The propeller shaft can be used for the drive to the rear wheels of a four-wheel-drive vehicle.
