The system gives a warning if one tries to replay a video tape having different recording type. The system comprises of the steps: in a micom(1), discriminating the type of a video tape and generating a switching control signal to a switching device(2); when the switching signal from the micom(1) is appropriate for the system, projecting the replayed image signal to the monitor; if not appropriate, checking and determining the replayed signal between the base capstern F.G signal and the control ratio signal; alarming by the speaker(5) when the replayed signal does not fit the one of the above two signal.
