PURPOSE: To improve the fastness in a colorless state before an image recording material is recorded and to improve the fastness of a color developed image by using a fast acid color developable colorless dye represented by a specific general formula. CONSTITUTION: A fast acid color developable colorless dye represented by the general formula [R<1> , R<2> , R4 are each a lower alkyl group, or an aralkyl group, R<3> is an aralkyl group, or an aryl group (where the aryl group may be bonded to a ring I to form a hetero group), R<5> is an aralkyl group, or an aryl group, R<6> is hydrogen or a lower alkyl group] is synthesized. When a recording material is manufactured by using the dye, it is formed of an upper sheet in which the rear surface is coated with a microcapsule enclosing the solution of the acid color developable colorless dye and a lower sheet in which an acid substance (developer) coating layer is provided on the front surface. The dye discharged from the microcapsule damaged by pressurizing in the case of writing is reacted with the developer to generate a color developed image. |
