CREASE RESISTANT FINISHING AND IRON

摘要

PURPOSE: To impart crease resistance according to a simple method by scattering a finishing liquid on cotton clothes with an iron having functions to spray the liquid and then heat-treating the clothes. CONSTITUTION: An aqueous solution of a thermally reactive type crease resistant finishing agent such as a glyoxal-based resin at >=5 to <=20% concentration is contained in a container 1 and the temperature of an iron is increased to add water 2 thereto. Steam is then generated with a steam chamber 4 and jetted from a nozzle 5 to thereby suck up the aqueous solution of the finishing agent in a vacuum state. The sucked aqueous solution is subsequently converted into a misty finishing agent 7 and sprayed from a nozzle 6 onto cotton clothes. The resultant cotton clothes are then dried at a low temperature and ironed while being smoothed at 160-190 deg.C iron temperature. The cross-linking reaction of the glyoxal-based resin is directly carried out in cellulosic fibers to impart crease resistance thereto.
