ATTRACTANT FOR BLUEGRASS WEBWORM

PURPOSE: To provide an attractant for bluegrass webworm (Parapediasia tererrella) having strong attracting action compared with a sex pheromone known as a conventional attractant for bluegrass webworm. CONSTITUTION: This bluegrass webworm attractant contains at least one component selected from anisic acid methyl, ethyl or propyl ester and/or at least one component selected from phenylacetaldehyde, 3-phenylpropionaldehyde and cinnamaldehyde. The attracting effect is further improved by mixing the above active component of the bluegrass webworm attractant with (Z)-11- hexadecenal and (Z)-9-hexadecenal.
