PURPOSE: To provide stable sealing performing and a sealing device of long life for high pressure, which does not produce the deflection, deformation and breakdown of the sealing device against the pressure variation of sealing fluid and prevents a main seal for attaining the sealing property from foreign matters reaching the main seal. CONSTITUTION: A trap lip 12 (flexible lip) projecting from an auxiliary seal 9 to abut aggainst a main seal 6 is provided such that the abutting angle on the annular sealing space 10 side of the tip part 12a of the trap lip 12 is enlarged to partition a portion of the annular sealing space 10 by the felexible lip 12 and form a trap chamber 13 connected to a communicating hole 11. |
