PURPOSE: To provide an ink jet recording light-weight coating sheet in which no change in color developability and no metallic luster occur even if a water resistant ink containing a carboxyl group is used for recording and which has an excellent printing quality level. CONSTITUTION: An ink jet recording sheet is recorded by an ink using a water soluble dye having mainly a carboxyl group as a hydrophilic functional group. The sheet does not conain calcium carbonate, and comprises a base sheet containing kaolin and/or illite as a filler and a recording layer provided at least on one side surface of the base sheet and containing a water absorbing pigment and a water binding agent as main ingredients in such a manner that the solid content per one side surface is 0.5 to 3.0g/m<2> . |
