DNA CHAIN USEFUL FOR INCREASING PRODUCTION AMOUNT OF CAROTENOID

PURPOSE: To obtain a DNA chain useful for increasing the biosynthetic production amount of carotenoid which is a natural pigment and used as a feed or a food additive with microorganism. CONSTITUTION: This DNA chain contains a base sequence coding for a polypeptide having an amino acid sequence of the formula or a DNA chain capable of hybridizing with the DNA chain. The DNA chain can be obtained by chemical synthesis according to a method for synthesizing a nucleic acid or by preparing a cDNA library such as Haematococcus pluvialis or Phaffia rhodozyma with Escherichia coli and then providing the DNA chain from the resultant library according to a method usually used in the field of genetic engineering.
