PURPOSE: To provide a new compound capable of forming an asymmetric synthesis reaction catalyst having excellent stereoselectivity or site selectivity of the reaction and high conversion and catalytic activity by coordinating to various kinds of transition metals. CONSTITUTION: This phosphine compound is expressed by formula I (R<1> is an alkyl or phenyl; A<1> is phenyl), e.g. (S)-(+)-2-naphthyl-3- diphenylphosphinobiphenyl. The compound can be produced e.g. by reacting 1-naphthyl-2,6-bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyloxy-benzene with a compound of formula R<1> MgY (Y is a halogen) (e.g. phenylmagnesium bromide) in the presence of an optically active transition metal complex catalyst derived from tetrachloropalladium(2) acid sodium salt, etc., and 1-diphenylphosphino-2,N,N- dimethylamino-3-phenylpropane, etc., reacting the resultant compound of formula II (Tf is trifluoromethanesulfonyl) with diphenylphosphine oxide of formula III and finally reacting the reaction product with HSiCl3 . |
