LAMINATE MOLDING METHOD AND DIE FOR USE IN LAMINATE MOLDING

PURPOSE: To improve productivity by cutting a surface material into the expanded plan shape of a laminate molding, placing the cut surface material in a die while shaping the cut surface material in accordance with the shape of the laminate molding, and then filling the die with a molten resin. CONSTITUTION: A surface material 1 is cut in the expanded plan shape of a container box to be molded. Then the surface material 1 is folded into the shape of the container box and set in a recess portion 13 of a movable die part 10B by operating a vacuum suction device. A die 10 is then completely closed temporarily. Overlap margins 1C of the surface material 1 that overlap each other are received in the inside of grooves 16 while the overlap margins contact each other on their obverse sides so that they may not be turned over to the other side. The completely closed die 10 is then opened by an amount corresponding to the compression. Then, the injection of a molten resin 2 into a cavity 10C of the die 10 is started. Immediately before or after the filling of the molten resin 2 is completed, the die 10 is clamped while the movable die part 10B is moved to the completely closed position.
