<p>PURPOSE: To obtain a TNF-αproduction suppressing agent containing a specific carbostyril derivative (salt), useful for the prevention and treatment of chronic rheumatoid arthritis, endotoxin shock, adult respiratory distress syndrome, thermal burn, asthma and myocardial infarction. CONSTITUTION: This TNF-αproduction suppressing agent contains approximately 1-70wt.% (preferably approximately 1-30wt.%) one or more kinds of a carbostyril derivative (salt) of the formula (R1 is H or a lower alkyl; R2 is a phenyl lower alkyl which may have 1-3 lower alkoxy groups as substituents on the phenyl ring) e.g.; 6-[3-(3,4-dimethoxybenzyl)amino-2-hydroxypropoxy] carbostyril}. The dosage is approximately 0.1-10mg/kg body weight daily based on the active ingredient.</p> |
