<p>PURPOSE: To provide an optical writing device of a light-emitting element array printer capable of printing with high resolving degrees by the use of an emitting element array with a low resolving degree. CONSTITUTION: Image forming position shifting means is disposed including a ferroelectric liquid crystal cell part 50 for applying a two-coloring matter having an absorbing wave length in the writing optical wave length between the converging rod lens 2 and the photosensitive drum 4 successively from the side of the converging rod lens 2, and orienting the light-absorbing axis of the two coloring element particles uniformly in the horizontal scanning direction and vertical scanning direction in accordance with the polarity of the applied electric field, and a birefringence plate 52 capable of setting the incident surface of light at a predetermined angle with respect to the light axis, having a given thickness, and displacing deflection of the optical axis directional component by a desired distance.</p> |
