PURPOSE: To expand a work polishing range by providing a tilting mechanism to tilt a sanding mechanism to polish a work carried along a carrying surface and a reversing mechanism to displace the sanding mechanism to a noninterfering position to the other. CONSTITUTION: A sanding machine is provided with a belt type carrying device to carry a work in the horizontal direction and a sanding mechanism 70 to polish the work, and the sanding mechanism 70 is supported by a mechanism frame through respective reversing, raising-lowering and tilting mechanisms 20, 40 and 60. The reversing mechanism 20 is rotated by rotation of a lock nut 33 so as to reverse a main frame 30 by 180 deg., and the raising-lowering mechanism 40 moves a raising-lowering frame 44 in the vertical direction along a raising-lowering guide 45 by driving of an air cylinder 41. The tilting mechanism 60 can tilt a tilting frame 62 in a range of a guide groove 63 to the raising- lowering frame 44 by rotary operation of a handle 65. |
