<p>PURPOSE: To obtain a new optically active asymmetric diphosphine useful as a ligand for asymmetric syntheses, expressing greatly excellent functions in some aspects such as selectivity, conversion, catalyst activity, etc., as an asymmetric hydrogenation catalyst, etc., by using simultaneously with a compound of a transition metal such as ruthenium, etc. CONSTITUTION: This optically active asymmetric diphosphine is an optically active 2-diphenylphosphinomethyl-2'-diphenylphosphinyl-1,1'-binaphthalene derivative of formula I (R is phenyl, tolyl, anisyl or chlorophenyl). E.g, (R)-2- diphenylphosphinomethyl-2'-diphenylphosphino-1,1'-binaphthalene. The compound can be obtained, e.g. by reacting (R)-binaphtol with triflate anhydride, monophosphinylating the resulting ditriflate with diphenylphosphine oxide, cyanizing the obtained product, to obtain the compound of formula II, then methylating the CN part and oxidizing the phosphine part, reacting the resulting compound with diphenylphosphinyllithium, reducing the produced compound of formula III obtain the objective compound.</p> |
