Particulate self-extinguishing moulding compsns. (A) consist of blowing agent-contg. styrene polymer particles, flame-proofed by coating with an organic Br cpd. having formula (I): (where X are 1-12C aliphatic, aromatic, cycloaliphatic or araliphatic gps. and n is 0 or 1) (A) are used for preparing foams having bulk density 5-100 (10-50) g/l. In an example polystyrene granulate, contg. 6.4% pentane and having average particle dia. 1.5 mm, was coated with powdery bis-tribromomethyl-thiadiazole. |
