PURPOSE: To obtain the subject powder easily giving a jelly in a short time simply by pouring hot water on it and effective for relieving constipation by mixing carrageenan with a powdery KONJAK (starch made from the root of devil's tongue) finely pulverized after removing impurities with an alcohol. CONSTITUTION: This powder is produced by mixing carrageenan powder with KONJAK powder purified with an alcohol and having particle size passing through a >=100 mesh sieve preferably at a mixing ratio of 2:8 to 8:2. The jelly becomes soft by increasing the ratio of the KONJAK powder and becomes hard by decreasing the ratio. |
