PURPOSE: To handle a buckle by a single hand by fastening the belt using one lever, and disengaging the stopper. CONSTITUTION: When a lever 12 is rotated counterclockwise round a pivot pin 11, a pinion 13 meshing with a driving tooth 15b of a drive element 15 rotates also counterclockwise, and a belt 6 moves in the direction A to cause fastening of a boot. If then the lever 12 is rotated clockwise, the driving tooth 15b moves against the action of a spring to be put afloat from the pinion 13, and it is possible for the lever 12 to rotate clockwise along with the drive element 15. To loosen the belt 6, a disengaging lever for the drive element 15 is turned so that the element 15 rotates clockwise round a pivot pin 14. If the detention part 9b of a stopper 9 is pressed by a projection 15c on the drive element 15, the stopper 9 turns counterclockwise against the action of the spring, and a pawl on the stopper 9 separates from ratchet in the form of sawteeth to cause loosening of the belt 6. Because the pinion 13 is secured to the buckle body 7, there is no risk of the belt 6 turning idle. |
