发明名称 PRODUCTION OF OPTICALLY ACTIVE BIS-BETA-NAPHTHOL COMPOUNDS AND OPTICALLY ACTIVE QUATERNARY AMMONIUM SALTS
摘要 PURPOSE: To safely and easily separate and recover the subject optically active compounds by mixing two kinds of specific compounds, wherein one of the compounds is optically active and the other is racemic, and subsequently decomposing the synthesized clathrate complex comprising the optically active components to separate the optically active component from the racemic compound. CONSTITUTION: (A1 ) A quaternary ammonium salt compound [e.g. a compound of the formula I (R is a lower alkyl; X is a halogen) and (A2 ) a bis-β-naphthol compound (e.g. 1,1'-bis-β-naphthol or 6,6'-dibromo-1,1'-bis-,β-naphthol), wherein one of the components A1 and A2 is optically active and the other is racemic, are mixed with each other to synthesize the clathrate complex wherein both the components are optically active, and the synthesized clathrate complex is separated and subsequently decomposed to produce the objective optically active compound. Thus, the optically active compound is separated from the racemic compound. The decomposition of the clathrate complex comprising the components A1 and A2 is performed e.g. by dissolving the clathrate complex in the mixture of water with an organic solvent not miscible with the water.
