MANUFACTURE OF LAMINATE HAVING EMBOSSES FORMED TO OUTER SURFACE OF SKIN MATERIAL THEREOF

PURPOSE: To prevent that the embossed patterns on the outer surface of a skin material disappear partially or become thin and to simplify a manufacturing apparatus. CONSTITUTION: Embossed patterns corresponding to embosses to be formed on the outer surface of a skin material 15 are formed to the surface 11 of a base material 10 made of a synthetic resin and a large number of fine through-holes 13 are formed to the base material. This base material is supported on the support surface 21 of a support mold 20 and the sheet like skin material 15 having thickness almost same to the height difference of the embossed patterns is heated and softened to be applied to the base material and airtightly brought into contact with the outer peripheral part of the support mold and the air between the base material and the skin material is sucked through the suction pipelines 23b formed to the support mold and fine through-holes to bring the skin material into contact with the surface of the base material to bond both materials. A large number of the fine through-holes provided to the base material are opened to the bottom parts of the grooves 12 forming the embossed patterns to the surface of the base material and the size of the through-holes opened on the surface side of the base material is made smaller than that of the through-holes opened on the rear side of the base material.
