PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method and apparatus capable of continuously producing a package blank, which can protect a book having a dimension of every kind to package the same and optimum in material consumption, from cardboard and paper in high productivity. SOLUTION: In a method and apparatus for continuously producing a package blank used for sending a book by mail, the package blank is produced by pulling a web 1w of cardboard from a roll. An adhesive region is applied to the surface of the web of cardboard at every position of the distance corresponding to the length of the package blank. A strip 2p of paper forming inner packaging paper for a package is supplied to the adhesive region 19 by a stud chain type conveyor 14 driven in synchronous relation to a cutter for the web 1w of cardboard. |
