PURPOSE: To manufacture a metal foil-clad composite ceramic plate formed by bonding a metal foil with a base composed of a continuous void ceramic sintered layer impregnated with thermosetting resin through an unrecognizable or minimized bonding layer. CONSTITUTION: A metal foil-clad composite ceramic plate is formed by overlapping a metal foil on a resin impregnation sintered base composed of a sintered base of thickness of 0.2-10mm constituted of an inorganic continuous void sintered body of true porosity of 12-50% and open porosity of 10% or more which is vacuum impregnated with thermosetting resin and laminate molded. In the manufacturing method of the above plate, a metal foil-clad composite ceramic plate having the 10-point average surface roughness of metal foil of 10μm or less and having substantially no thermosetting resin layer forming a bonding layer of metal foil, or having the thickness of the layer of 10μm or less, and a resin impregnation sintered base are used. The plate, therefore, is provided with superior physical properties of continuous pore ceramic sintered body, and also provided with high heat resistance up in the vicinity of decomposition temperature of thermosetting resin and with processing properties improved to a large extent.
