摘要 PURPOSE: To perform stable control of any engine parameter. CONSTITUTION: A control system for an engine comprises a deviation band width monitoring circuit 13 to compare a deviation (e) between a parameter set value, such as the cooling water temperature of an engine 1, and a detecting value with a given deviation band width; a controller 12 with a hold which holds an output by a signal from the circuit 13 when the deviation (e) is higher than a band width, and control an engine based on the deviation (e) when the deviation (e) is within a band width; and set follow-up control circuits 14-16 formed in such a manner that when the (e) exceeds a band width, a throttle opening (9) command inputted by a signal from the circuit 13 is held, aθcommand increased or decreased in a stair-form manner from a hold value according to polarity of the (e) is outputted, and when the (e) enters a band width, the outputθis held by a signal from the circuit 13. When the (e) is high, overshoot is prevented from occurring only by effectingθcontrol by a stagedθcommand having a waiting time at each stage. Since a controller 12 is operated only in a stable state wherein the (e) is low, there is no need for skill in PI regulation.
