The mixed yarn having different shrinkage is produced by bridging a ground thread and an effect thread. When a polyester is synthesized by reacting dibasic acid or its ester formative derivative having terephthalic acid as a major component with an alkylene glycol of at least more than one element, a polyalkylene glycol only having a number average molecular weight of more than 10,000 or an alkyl sulfonic metal salt shown in (A) and the following general formula(1) thereof is added to the reactants at optional time before the concerned reaction is completed. The amount of an addition is adjusted to 1-3 wt.% against the concerned dibasic acid to obtain a chip for producing the ground thread(I) of elongation 30-40 %. The obtained chip is used for producing the effect thread of an orientation degree 0.04-0.06, elongation 100-150 %. As a result, the mixed yarn having different shrinkage is produced by 20-35 % loss of quantity of the ground thread(I) and effect thread(II) with an alkali solution and bridging by using the common fluid bridge equipment followed by winding up. In the formula, R is an alkyl having carbon number of more than 12, M is alkali metal.
